Without internet

As I was having lunch the other day with some friends, it was a birthday celebration, one of them said her broadband connection had been down for a whole hour on one occasion! How can you survive without broadband for an hour was the question? As if it had been oxygen we’ve been deprived of… 

I have been an internet addict, I was checking out new music and bands on myspace, answering emails and catching up with friends and doing some work of course and the 24 hours are filled in a flash, You get hooked to the online world without even noticing. But I have also been without internet, let alone a broadband connection for 10 months! And I survived! How? Well I was doing the online work at computers elsewhere. In the library, in the gym, at internet cafes and so on. It is interesting to see how you adjust and become forced to limit your internet usage and instead use that time more wisely.

I now have internet at home, since a few days back and one of the first things I do as soon as I get the chance is to check emails, myspace, facebook, wordpress, links, online news, online music and it never ends!

I’ve become addicted to the internet again, but knowing that I managed to survive without it for a year will help me break that habit…. I think
